What the notice says today
The issue
On a small number of trucks, the rear brakes may take too long to apply and/or may release too slowly when the brake pedal is released. Canadian regulations require brakes to apply and release within a certain time.
The safety risk
Brakes that take too long to apply and/or that release too slowly could increase the risk of a crash.
What will be done
PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the front brake valve. The dealer will also replace the hose from the foot valve to the brake relay valve with one of another size.

Problème : Sur un petit nombre de camions, les freins arrière pourraient prendre trop de temps à se serrer et/ou se desserrer trop lentement lorsque la pédale de frein est relâchée. La réglementation canadienne exige que les freins se serrent et se desserrent à l'intérieur d'un certain délai. Risques pour la sécurité : Des freins qui prennent trop de temps à se serrer et/ou qui se desserrent trop lentement pourraient augmenter le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer la soupape de frein avant. Le concessionnaire doit également remplacer la conduite entre la soupape de pied et la soupape relais de frein par une conduite d'une autre taille.
