What the notice says today
The issue
This recall is for engine coolant level sensors installed on certain transit buses or sold as a replacement part. On certain transit buses, the engine coolant level sensor may be defective and could falsely detect a low level of coolant. If this happens, the engine could shut down and cause a loss of power to the wheels.
The safety risk
A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A bus that is disabled could result in a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.
What will be done
Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine coolant level sensor.

This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-513. Buses that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.

Problème : Ce rappel concerne des capteurs de niveau de liquide de refroidissement installés sur certains autobus de transport en commun ou vendus comme pièces de remplacement. Sur certains autobus de transport en commun, le capteur de niveau de liquide de refroidissement du moteur pourrait être défectueux et détecter faussement un faible niveau de liquide de refroidissement. Si cela se produisait, le moteur pourrait s'arrêter soudainement et provoquer une perte de puissance aux roues. Remarque : Ce rappel remplace le rappel numéro 2025-513 de Transports Canada. Les autobus qui ont été réparés dans le cadre de ce rappel nécessitent également cette réparation. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance soudaine aux roues pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. De plus, la panne de l'autobus pourrait nécessiter le transfert des passagers dans un environnement non contrôlé, ce qui pourrait créer un risque de blessure. Mesures correctives : Nova Bus doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur fournir des instructions sur la façon d'inspecter et, au besoin, de remplacer le capteur de niveau de liquide de refroidissement du moteur.
