Freightliner Cascadia, Western Star 49x. Published by Transport Canada as 2026428 on 9 September 2026. System: Brakes. 7 vehicles affected in Canada.
What the notice says On a small number of trucks, the recall repairs completed by an DTNA service facility during recalls FL958 and FL966 (Transport Canada recall nos. 2022-626 and 2023-051) may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain trucks, a software problem may not detect corrosion to the brake modulator valves. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply during automatic braking. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction.

What the notice says today
The issue
On a small number of trucks, the recall repairs completed by an DTNA service facility during recalls FL958 and FL966 (Transport Canada recall nos.
The safety risk
A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash.
What will be done
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves. The service facility will also update the vehicle software.
Note
This problem doesn't affect the service brakes.
