The issue
On certain vehicles, the wireless seat belt reminder system within the rear seat belt buckles may not work correctly. As a result, the rear seat belt status indicators in the instrument panel may incorrectly show that a seat belt is buckled when it's not.
The safety risk
A seat belt reminder that doesn't work correctly could create confusion. Not wearing a seat belt increases the risk of injury in a crash.
What will be done
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear seat belts and replace the wireless rear seat belt buckle(s), as necessary.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le système de transmission sans fil de rappel de ceinture de sécurité intégré aux boucles des ceintures de sécurité arrière pourrait ne pas fonctionner correctement. Par conséquent, les voyants d'état des ceintures de sécurité arrière situés sur le tableau de bord pourraient indiquer qu'une ceinture est bouclée alors qu'elle ne l'est pas. Risques pour la sécurité : Un système de rappel de ceinture de sécurité qui ne fonctionne pas correctement pourrait créer de la confusion. Ne pas porter sa ceinture de sécurité augmente le risque de blessure en cas d'accident. Mesures correctives : Ford doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire vérifier les ceintures de sécurité arrière et remplacer la ou les boucles de ceinture de sécurité arrière avec système de transmission sans fil, au besoin.
