The issue
Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to be blocked. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display while the transmission is in reverse gear.
The safety risk
A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
What will be done
Rivian will notify owners by email. Rivian has released an over-the-air software update to fix this problem. There is no further action required if your vehicle has software release 2026.23.0 or a later release.

Problème : Dans certaines conditions, un problème de logiciel pourrait faire en sorte que l'image de caméra de recul soit masquée. La réglementation canadienne exige que l'image complète de la caméra de recul s'affiche lorsque la boîte de vitesse est en marche arrière. Risques pour la sécurité : Une image de la caméra de recul qui n'est pas entièrement affichée pourrait réduire la capacité du conducteur à voir derrière son véhicule lorsqu'il recule. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Rivian doit aviser les propriétaires par courriel.
