What the notice says today
The issue
On certain vehicles, the rearview camera image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing.
The safety risk
A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
What will be done
Ford will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, l'image de caméra de recul pourrait ne pas s'afficher lorsque la boîte de vitesses est réglée en marche arrière. La réglementation canadienne exige que l'image de caméra de recul s'affiche lorsque le véhicule recule. Remarque : Ce rappel concerne seulement les véhicules équipés d'un écran de 10,1 po. Risques pour la sécurité : Une image de caméra de recul qui ne s'affiche pas pourrait réduire la capacité du conducteur à voir derrière le véhicule en marche arrière. Cela pourrait augmenter le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : Ford doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste. Les mesures correctives pour ce rappel sont en cours d'élaboration.
