What the notice says today
The issue
On certain motorcycles, the shift shaft stopper could break. As a result, the transmission may not be able to shift gears or may unintentionally change gears. This could cause a sudden loss of stability and/or loss of control. This could also cause the engine not to restart.
The safety risk
A loss of stability or control could increase the risk of a crash.
What will be done
To reduce the safety risk, Yamaha advises not to ride your motorcycle until the recall repairs are completed. Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the shift shaft assembly.

Problème : Sur certaines motocyclettes, la butée de l'arbre de changement de vitesse pourrait se casser. Par conséquent, la boîte de vitesses pourrait ne pas pouvoir changer de vitesse ou pourrait changer de vitesse involontairement. Cela pourrait entraîner une perte soudaine de stabilité et/ou une perte de contrôle. Cela pourrait également faire en sorte que le moteur ne redémarre pas. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de stabilité ou de contrôle pourrait augmenter le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : Pour réduire les risques pour la sécurité, Yamaha recommande de ne pas utiliser votre motocyclette jusqu'à ce que les réparations prévues dans le cadre du rappel aient été effectuées. Yamaha doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur motocyclette chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer l'ensemble d'arbre de changement de vitesse.
