The issue
On certain vehicles, a problem with the steering column control module could cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system not to work.
The safety risk
An electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash.
What will be done
FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the steering column control module.

This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2026-192. This problem would cause the electronic stability control (ESC) warning light to turn on.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, un problème avec le module de commande de la colonne de direction pourrait faire en sorte que le système de contrôle électronique de la stabilité (ESC) ne fonctionne pas. Remarque : Ce rappel s'ajoute au rappel numéro 2026-192 de Transports Canada. Ce problème entraînerait l'affichage du voyant d'avertissement du système de contrôle électronique de la stabilité (ESC). Risques pour la sécurité : Un système de contrôle électronique de la stabilité qui ne fonctionne pas pourrait augmenter le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : FCA Canada doit aviser les propriétaires par écrit et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer le module de commande de la colonne de direction.
