Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
On certain vehicles, the automatic transmission may have a steering column gear shift tube improperly secured to the gear shift lever housing, due to the omission of an assembly staking operation. When built to specification, the gear shift tube is staked & retained with a set screw at the upper portion of the steering column jacket. A tube which is retained only by a set screw may drop as the result of the screw loosening in service.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1975049.
