THE FRONT WHEEL INSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES WAS IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED. THESE DEFECTIVE WHEELS MAY DEVELOP CRACKS WHERE THE SPOKES JOIN THE CENTER HUB PORTION OF THE WHEEL. RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT ON BUMPS, HARD APPLICATION OF THE FRONT BRAKES, OR HEAVY LOADING OF THE MOTORCYCLE COULD ACCELERATE THE FORMATION OF THE CRACKS. THE DEFECTIVE WHEELS CAN EVENTUALLY FRACTURE, WHICH COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND CRASH.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1983089.
