FAILURE OF THE BRAKE CONTROL MODULE MAY OCCUR WHEN THE PRIMARY BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING. IF THIS MODULE WERE TO FAIL AND A FAILURE OF THE PRIMARY BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM WERE TO OCCUR, THERE WOULD BE A LOSS OF POWER ASSIST TO THE BRAKE SYSTEM WITHOUT WARNING AND STOPPING POWER WOULD BE REDUCED. A REDUCTION OF BRAKING ABILITY WHEN MINIMUM STOPPING DISTANCE IS REQUIRED COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1984128.
