THE SPRAGUE WIPER ASSEMBLY PIVOT CAN SEIZE DUE TO GALVANIC CORROSION BETWEEN THE ZINC-PLATED STEEL SHAFT AND THE BRONZE BUSHING CAUSING THE WIPER ARM/BLADE ASSEMBLY TO STOP WIPING THE WINDSHIELD. THIS COULD CAUSE REDUCED DRIVER VISIBILITY DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER AND RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.rnCORRECTION: SPRAGUE WIPER ASSEMBLY PIVOT WILL BE REPLACED WITH AN ASSEMBLY NOT SUSCEPTIBLE TO GALVANIC CORROSION.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1991091.
