Certain P30 vehicles with a right-hand and left-hand fill fuel tank may have been shipped to body builders with damaged fill and/or vent opening caps on the right-hand side. If a left-hand fill system was installed on the tank by the body builder and there was a damaged right-hand cap, the fuel tank system would not be sealed. Thus, the automatic shutoff system utilized by gas stations would not work, which would allow gasoline to be forced out of the right-hand opening. If an ignition source were present, a fire could result. Correction: Dealer will inspect for a left-hand fill system and install new caps on the unused right-hand fill and vent openings.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1991171.
