Certain motorcycles may not have adequate clearance between the front disc brake pads and the caliper assembly. Heat build-up to repeated hard braking at high speed, can cause the brake pad backing plate to expand and bind in the caliper. If this occurs, the brake pads will continuously contact the brake rotor causing overheating, possible rotor distortion and reduced brake performance. Correction: Front brake pads and rotors will be inspected and replaced if necessary.
