THE PIN WHICH TIES THE LOCKING LEVER TO THE CLAMPING JAW IS NOT ADEQUATELY SECURED. THIS WOULD ALLOW THE PIN TO SLIP OUT OF POSITION ENOUGH FOR ONE SIDE OF THE LEVER AND CLAMP TO WORK FREE AND COULD RESULT IN THE COUPLER DISENGAGING FROM THE TRAILER HITCH BALL WHILE UNDER TOW. CORRECTION: PRODUCT WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM MARKET.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1992128.
