THE LOWER PIVOT PIN THAT JOINS THE LIFTGATE GAS STRUT TO THE BODY MAY SEPARATE FROM THE LOWER STRUT MOUNTING BRACKET DUE TO AN UNDERSIZED RIVET HEAD. IF THE PIN SEPARATES, THE LIFTGATE COULD FALL AND POSSIBLY CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS UNDER THE FALLING LIFTGATE.rnCORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND, IF ONE OR BOTH OF THE RIVET HEADS ARE UNDERSIZED, THAT LIFTGATE WILL BE REPLACED.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1993079.
