THE ALTERNATOR OUTPUT WIRE MAY NOT BE TIGHTLY CONNECTED TO THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX. THIS COULD RESULT IN OVERHEATING OF THE CONNECTION DUE TO HIGH ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE AND A POSSIBLE UNDERHOOD FIRE. CORRECTION: DISTRIBUTION BOX CONNECTION WILL BE INSPECTED AND TIGHTENED. VEHICLES WITH VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE PLASTIC BOX HOUSING WILL HAVE THE UNDERHOOD HARNESS THAT INCLUDES THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX REPLACED.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1994197.
