THE DEFECT EXISTS IN THE SERVICE AND EMERGENCY GLADHANDS LOCATED ON THE FRONT WALL OF THE TRAILER. THE BOLTS USED TO ATTACH THE GLADHAND LOCK PLATE TO THE GLADHAND ARE DEFECTIVE DUE TO HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE BOLTS TO FAIL PREMATURELY. IF THE BOLTS FAIL, THEN THE GLADHAND LOCK PLATE CAN COME LOOSE ALLOWING THE SEAL TO BE BROKEN IN THE AIR LINE BETWEEN THE TOWING VEHICLE AND THE TRAILER. IF THE SUPPLY LINE SEAL IS BROKEN, THEN THE EMERGENCY SPRING BRAKES ON THE TRAILER WILL APPLY AND THE TRAILER CAN EXPERIENCE A PANIC STOP WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING TO THE DRIVER. IF THE CONTROL LINE SEAL IS BROKEN, THEN THE TRAILER CAN BE OPERATING WITHOUT SERVICE BRAKES WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING TO THE DRIVER. EITHER CONDITION CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
CORRECTION: GLADHANDS WILL BE INSPECTED AND DEFECTIVE BOLTS REPLACED. BOTH GLADHANDS AND BOLTS WILL BE REPLACED IF THE DEFECTIVE BOLTS BREAK DURING THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Hyundai Translead Van Trailer, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: 237 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 1995.
