What the notice says Note: there are two defects in this recall.
(1) due to the thickness of the carpet padding on the transmission tunnel, the space between the brake pedal and the transmission tunnel may be such that a driver wearing large boots could have his or her right foot catch under the brake pedal. this could result in a delay …

Nissan PATHFINDER in the other registers
This site holds seven national and European registers. Nissan PATHFINDER is named on 29 American notices, 8 British, 7 European and 1 Israeli. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.
The American register
The British register
The European register
The Israeli register
Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

NOTE: THERE ARE TWO DEFECTS IN THIS RECALL.
THIS COULD RESULT IN A DELAY IN APPLYING THE BRAKES.
(2) DUE TO THE TYPE OF LUBRICANT USED IN THE STEERING TRANSFER GEAR ASSEMBLY, THE EFFORT REQUIRED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT EXTREMELY LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES MAY INCREASE TO THE POINT WHERE SOME DRIVERS MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL.
CORRECTION: (1) CARPET PADDING ON THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL ADJACENT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL BE REMOVED. (2) STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WILL BE REPLACED WITH ONE UTILIZING A DIFFERENT LUBRICANT.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1996035.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Nissan Pathfinder, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Nissan: 330 in the register, and 209 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 1996.
