THE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-MEMBER REINFORCEMENT IS INADEQUATE AND COULD CRACK UNDER CERTAIN ROUGH APPLICATIONS. A FAILED CROSS-MEMBER WOULD RELEASE THE TRANSVERSE ATTACHMENT OF THE DRIVE AXLE AND ALLOW IT TO MOVE RIGHT AND LEFT FOR APPROXIMATELY 3/4 INCH. THIS COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT STEERING CONTROL.rnCORRECTION: TWO ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENTS WILL BE INSTALLED TO SOLIDIFY THE ASSEMBLY.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1998004.
