On certain vehicles, the tires may experience premature deterioration. When the tires are subjected to excessive loading, inadequate inflation or a combination of these conditions the driver could experience unusual vehicle vibration, out of round tire sensation, tire bounce etc. Should this occur a tire may deflate and personal injury and/or property damage may result. Correction: Front tires, rear tires and used spare tires will be replaced. New spare tires with a manufacturer date of 157 (fifteenth week of 1997) or earlier will be replaced. Tires with a date of 167 or later will have a new longer valve stem installed.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1998155.
