IN THE EVENT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION, A FAULTY HARNESS ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM MAY ALLOW THE HARNESS SYSTEM TO SLIP AND THUS WILL INCREASE THE HEAD EXCURSION OF THE CHILD. THE PROPER USE OF THE RESTRAINT WITH THE TETHER PROPERLY INSTALLED WILL MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE MECHANISM CAN BE REPLACED.rnCORRECTION: CONSUMERS CAN CALL THE TOLL-FREE NUMBER (1-800-355-8882) TO RECEIVE A NEW ADJUSTER FOR THE RESTRAINT AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1998164.
