GMC SIERRA in the other registers
This site holds seven national and European registers. GMC SIERRA is named on 49 American notices, 2 European and 3 Israeli. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.

The European register
The Israeli register
Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Certain 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with 6.6L diesel engines fail to comply with requirements of C.M.V.S.S. No. 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems." These vehicles have a brake system warning light in the instrument cluster that may not illuminate when the brake fluid is low. In addition, when the brake fluid is low, the vehicle may not meet the partial system requirements of C.M.V.S.S. No. 105. These conditions could result in reduced braking capability, which could lead to a crash.
Correction: Dealers will change the location of a wire connection in the underhood bussed electrical center.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2001186.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the GMC Sierra, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a GMC: 561 in the register, and 301 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2001.
