On certain vehicles, a defect in the front wheel hub bearings will result in premature spalling which will lead to eventual breakdown of the bearing. An early breakdown of the wheel hub bearing system, when undetected, can possibly cause a wheel fire, wheel separation, loss of vehicle control, or vehicle fire. Correction: Dealer will replace front axle hubs.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2003134.
