Certain red after-market accessory skis manufactured by PPD Industries for use on Polaris snowmobiles may break during snowmobile operation. This may cause the operator to lose control of the snowmobile and crash, possibly resulting in severe injury or death. The affected skis can be distinguished by their lack of any label or imprint indicating a brand name, their color and their composite construction (i.e. nonmetallic). All of the skis have one of the following part numbers stamped on the rear tail of the ski: 5433175, 5433260, or 5433273. Correction: Dealer will replace affected skis at no charge to the consumer.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2004025.
