On certain vehicles, the material specification of the wheel spacer may not be suitable for some applications where severe operating conditions can result in degradation of the wheel spacer. This could lead to a loss of clamp load, which may result in loose wheel nuts. If the wheel nuts loosen for any reason, damage to the wheel studs and/or wheel may occur, which if left uncorrected, may lead to complete separation of the wheel(s) from the vehicle. Correction: Dealers will replace the wheel spacers and inspect and replace (as required) the wheels and wheel equipment.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2006140.
