On certain trucks, the positive battery cables, that supply power from the batteries to the starter, may rub against an electrical ground cable between the engine and the starter, and electrical ground cable between the frame rail and the starter, or the frame rail itself. This rubbing may cause an electrical short and/or fire, which can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealers will re-route the battery cables using new bracketry.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007016.
