These Baby Trend infant car seats do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 231.1. The infant restraints have not been dynamically tested to the Canadian requirement and therefore do not bear the National Safety Mark (circular label with a maple leaf in the centre) that indicates compliance. The performance of these units in a crash is therefore unknown and may lead to occupant injury or death. It is recommended that the owners of these units contact the importer - Baby Zone - to exchange them for complying units or for in-store credit.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007285.
