On certain trucks, a 90-degree standoff mounted on the front bumper support may interfere with proper hood strut operation. As a result of contact when the hood is opened, the strut's safety latch may be hindered, allowing the hood to fall, and potentially injuring someone working in the engine compartment. Correction: Dealers will relocate the 90-degree standoff and reroute the headlamp wiring harness.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2008227.
