Certain fifth wheel trailers were manufactured with insufficient crossmember support of the chassis frame rails. Over time the frame rails will flex excessively causing fatigue cracks. The cracking of the frame rails will allow the trailer to sway excessively from side to side while underway. This could lead to a loss of vehicle control and a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install an additional crossmember behind the rear shackles of the frame to brace to two sides.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2009320.
