Certain trucks were equipped with headlights that fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The Standard requires headlights not be mounted lower than 559 mm and not higher than 1372 mm above the road surface. Improper headlamp height may result in incomplete illumination of the road surface, or may inhibit the ability of seeing pedestrians and other road users. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will measure headlamp height and, for vehicles with lamps beyond the limit, will install new headlamps that lower the bulb center.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2010258.
