Certain aerial devices and digger derricks, installed on utility service vehicles (to elevate personnel in order to facilitate working on overhead service lines, for tree trimming, etc.), may have been equipped with a lanyard anchor that was not properly heat treated during the fabrication process and, as a result, could fail. The lanyard anchor is used to secure occupants to the platform while using the lift. Failure of the lanyard anchor to restrain the user (in the event of a fall) could increase the risk of personal injuries. Correction: Dealers will replace the lanyard anchor.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011052.
