Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 - Air Brake Systems. The Antilock Brake System (ABS) module may have been incorrect programmed during vehicle assembly. As such, the trailer ABS fault indicator lamp may not illuminate if a trailer ABS fault occurs. A driver who is unaware that the trailer ABS is not functioning could lose control of the trailer under hard braking, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the ABS module.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011175.
