On certain trucks, the hood strut assembly may have been incorrectly manufactured and could fail. This could prevent the safety latch (designed to keep the hood open during servicing) from functioning as intended, allowing the hood to close unexpectedly, which could cause injury to someone working in the engine compartment. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the hood strut assembly.
