Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, specific operating conditions (such as extreme temperatures, combined with high battery and accessory loads, and operation near engine stalling speeds), could allow the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to activate the engine stall prevention assist software which, in turn, could inadvertently command the hybrid system's electric motor to rotate the engine in the opposite direction, causing the vehicle to move in the reverse direction of that expected. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will update the ECU software.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011329.
