On certain fire trucks, the door latch fasteners may not have received adequate tightening torque during the manufacturing process. As a result, the outer door handle may rotate out of position, allowing a retention spring to dislocate, which could cause the door to open during a vehicle crash. Should this occur, unbelted occupants could fall out of the vehicle and sustain personal injury. Correction: E-One service centers will replace the door latch assemblies.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011336.
