On some tires, a manufacturing defect could cause the lower sidewall to crack, possibly resulting in a slow loss of tire pressure. If left in service, the crack/separation could grow and rapid air loss could occur. Tire failure could cause the driver to lose vehicle control, which may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Also, during tire failure, pieces could become separated from the rim and could strike a vehicle, property, or a bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Retailers will replace affected tires.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2012330.
