Transport Canada carries this recall as 2014005, dated 13 January 2014. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 14V007, dated 13 January 2014. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 14008.

On certain 1500 series vehicles equipped with 4.3L and 5.3L engines, exhaust components may overheat while the vehicle is idling in cold temperatures. This could cause nearby plastic components to overheat and melt, possibly resulting in smoke and/or fire and increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module.
