On certain vehicles, a defect in the the ball joint seals on the drag link could allow corrosion to form in the joint, leading to accelerated wear. This could result in ball joint failure, potentially resulting in a loss of steering control which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the drag link on affected vehicles. Those found to be loose will be replaced immediately. Drag links found to be still serviceable will be replaced when sufficient replacement parts become available.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015466.
