On certain vehicles equipped with Continental P275/55R20 CrossContact LX20 tires, a manufacturing defect could cause a lack of adhesion between belts in the tire. Affected tires may exhibit localized tread wear, excessive vibration, noise and bulging in the tread area. Continued use could cause the belts to separate, which could lead to full belt/tread loss. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect tire date code markings to determine whether they are from the affected date code. Affected tires will be replaced.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2016502.
