Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 202 - Head Restraints. The front driver and passenger seat-back recliner mechanism may have been incorrectly welded to the seat-back frame. This could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect the front driver and passenger seats for proper welds and replace the seat-back frames as necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017043.
