On certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with a generator-ready option, elevated electrical loads associated with RV use in higher ambient temperatures could cause the power transfer switch to fail. This could allow the transfer switch to overheat and melt, which could result in a fire causing personal injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the transfer switch. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2010-410.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017466.
