On certain vehicles equipped with Crosswind Assist, the Crosswind Assist function is not correctly programmed, and therefore is inoperable. In the event of strong, gusty crosswinds, the automatic brake interventions by the vehicle's Adaptive Electronic Stability Program (ESP) might not be activated, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the software of the ESP control unit.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017629.
