On certain BMW M5 models, the fuel level sensor may contact an in-tank fuel line, causing the fuel gauge to display an incorrect fuel level. This may create a situation where the vehicle could run out of fuel while the gauge still displays that there is fuel remaining. As a result, the engine could stall without warning and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will secure the fuel line so that it does not contact the fuel level sensor.
