Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
On certain vehicles registered and operated in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the front cross member may rust due to a manufacturing defect. This could affect vehicle handling and cause reduced steering control, potentially increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install a drain hose, inspect the cross member and, depending on its condition, replace it or install a reinforcement and apply a wax coating.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018504.
