Issue: rnOn certain school buses built with a Detroit Diesel DD5 engine, the bolts that attach the engine cooling fan could loosen. If this happens, the fan could detach and/or cause damage to nearby parts. This could disable the school bus. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA bus that is disabled could result in an evacuation in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.rnrnCorrective Actions: rnDaimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and repair the fan hub fasteners, as required.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019611.
