Altec A-CLASS in the other registers

This site holds seven national and European registers. Altec A-CLASS is named on 1 American notices. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.

Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Issue:
On certain aerial devices and digger derricks, the bolts for the pedestal and turntable may fail. If multiple bolts fail, the turntable and pedestal could separate from the vehicle.

Safety Risk:
If the pedestal and turntable separate from the vehicle, there may be a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and advise them to perform a visual inspection of the rotation bearing bolts, looking for bolts marked with the number "5252". If any of the bolts are found broken or cracked, the unit should be taken out of service and the bolts should be replaced. Bolts marked with the number 5252 that are not broken or cracked must be replaced at the next annual service.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020490.

Reading this against the source

This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.

This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Altec: 89 in the register, and 536 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2020.
