Issue:
On certain vehicles, the cover for the positive battery terminal could be damaged in a rear crash. This can cause the car to lose electrical power. If this happens, it may not be possible to open the doors from the outside and/or the hazard lights may not work.Safety Risk:
Doors that cannot be opened from the outside could increase the risk of injury after a crash. Hazard lights that do not work could make the vehicle less visible and increase the risk of a crash.Corrective Actions:
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the plus (positive) terminal cover.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020604.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Audi RS 5, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on an Audi: 212 in the register, and 536 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2020.
