Issue: rnOn certain trailers, a plastic spacer (called a wheel-saver or wheel guard) was installed between the two wheels or between the brake drum and the wheel. These wheel-savers may melt due to the high heat generated by the brakes. As a result, a wheel could become loose and separate from the vehicle.rnNote: This recall only affects certain trailers equipped with FleetSpec wheel-savers. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.rn rnCorrective Action: rnK-Line Trailers will notify owners by mail and instruct you to remove or remove and replace the FleetSpec wheel-savers as soon as possible. The company recommends that you should check the wheel nut torque daily and, in particular, any time after driving with high brake temperatures, until the wheel-savers are removed or replaced.
