Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the front passenger seat belt assembly may contain a defective automatic locking retractor (ALR). As a result, the seat belt may not properly lock to secure a child seat. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA seat belt that is not properly locked could prevent a child seat from being properly secured, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFord will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the seat belt. It will be replaced, if necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021481.
